Online therapy in NJ — FAQ
Do you have to be a New Jersey resident to work with you?
No — you just need to be physically located in New Jersey during your session. If you live in NJ and sometimes commute to NYC, you can still do sessions when you're in New Jersey.
Does New Jersey insurance cover telehealth therapy?
Yes. New Jersey requires insurers to cover telehealth services equivalently to in-person care (telehealth parity law). I'm in-network with Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Oscar, and Oxford in New Jersey. Always verify your specific benefits with your insurer before your first session.
I live near the NY border — can we still work together?
As long as you're physically in New Jersey during the session, yes. I'm not currently licensed in New York, so I cannot see you when you're on the NY side of the border.
What time zone are sessions in?
Laura is based in Tampa (Eastern Time), so all sessions are scheduled in Eastern Time. New Jersey is also Eastern Time, so scheduling is seamless.
